According to the official [[complaint]] from the [[Supreme People's Procuratorate]] after the Cultural Revolution, during the purge, 346 thousand people were arrested, over 16 thousand were persecuted to death, and over 81 thousand were permanently injured and disabled.<ref name=":2" /><ref name=":3" /><ref name=":22">Liquid error: wrong number of arguments (given 1, expected 2)</ref> Other estimates have put a death toll between 20 thousand to 100 thousand, while hundreds of thousands were arrested and persecuted, and over a million people were affected.<ref name=":1" /><ref name=":2" /><ref name=":3" /><ref name=":22" /><ref></ref><ref>Liquid error: wrong number of arguments (given 1, expected 2)</ref>
