Determining the Outcome of a Match (association football)

Grover cleveland: add ways of determining winner of a drawn match (should this be its own article)?

Determining the Outcome of a Match is the 10th of the Laws of the Game of association football.

It addresses two aspects of the game:

* The procedure for scoring a goal
* Procedures for determining the winner of a "drawn" match, in which each team scores the same number of goals

The current name and content of Law 10 date from 2016. From 1938 until 2016, law 10 was titled "Method of Scoring", and addressed only the procedure for scoring a goal. Procedures for breaking ties were addressed, if at all, in a supplemental section of the laws.

Determining the winner of a drawn match
According to Law 10, the only permitted procedures to determine the winner of a drawn match, where competition rules require there to be a winner, are:

* the away goals rule
* extra time, consisting of two periods of 15 minutes each
* a penalty shoot-out

NotEnglishSpeaker: creating page for characters

The following is a list of characters for the Kakegurui – Compulsive Gambler manga and anime series.

Characters
Main characters
;|蛇喰 夢子|Jabami Yumeko}}
:</ref>|Erika Harlacher}}
:Played by: Minami Hamabe
:Yumeko is a beautiful and mysterious transfer student to Hyakkaou Private Academy who initially appears modest, but shows a maniacal passion for high stakes gambling, as shown when her eyes glow red. She has long, straight black hair with bangs styled in a hime cut and red eyes. Although she dislikes games where the outcome is predetermined, she can quickly deduce how such games are being manipulated in her opponents' favor and, by doing so, she devises strategies that more often than not turn the tables on them. Her increasing wagers and activities soon draws the attention of the student council. She lives alone as her sole relative, her older sister, has been hospitalized long-term. When she is reduced to pet status, although she could easily pay her debts due to her family wealth or from her winnings, she chooses not to, so as to be involved in more games and so she can also freely challenge the student council president.
;|鈴井 涼太|Suzui Ryōta}}
:Liquid error: wrong number of arguments (1 for 2)</ref>}}
:Played by: Mahiro Takasugi
:Ryota is a student with good grades but very poor gambler. Although he is the class president at the beginning of the series, he has a massive debt to Mary and serves as her pet. He is forced to help Mary manipulate a game against Yumeko, but when Yumeko catches the scam and thanks him by paying off his debt and wanting to be friends, Ryōta becomes fiercely loyal and supporting to Yumeko, possibly even liking her. He tries to talk her out of engaging in high stakes gambling, but Yumeko hardly ever listens.
;|早乙女 芽亜里|Saotome Meari}}
:</ref>}}
:Played by: Aoi Morikawa
:Mary is a student in Yumeko and Ryota's class who begins the series as one of the school's top gamblers and Ryota's master. However, she is quickly humbled in a jankenpon (rock-paper-scissors) card game, losing to Yumeko and having to become a pet herself. Despite their initial antagonism, she later becomes Yumeko's ally. Unlike Yumeko, Mary aims for victory in every gamble and cares more for her social and monetary standing within the school. After learning how the student council president perceives the pets, Mary forms a grudge against her and aims to become the next Student Council president. In the prequel story Kakegurui Twin, it is revealed that Mary's family is not as well off as her peers, but she transfers to the school and learns how to survive and thrive in the school's gambling system. She manages to win a school space from the former student council vice president in which she then sets up a gambling den.<!-- Kakegurui Twin --> In the manga and anime, she has blonde hair styled in twin tails, whereas in the drama, she has light brown hair and the tails.

;|皇 伊月|Sumeragi Itsuki}}

:Played by: Ruka Matsuda

After she financially drains her opponents, she influences them to wager and lose their fingernails and toenails, and as a result, has amassed quite a collection of nail art. After Yumeko figures out how Itsuki is able to cheat in a game of Double Concentration, Itsuki suffers a humiliating loss, and her seat on the council is revoked. She later became an ally to Yumeko in order to achieve her goal at rising up to Student Council President and exceed any expectations. It is hinted that she may have had a crush on Kaede Manyūda because of their similar ambitions but becomes heartbroken when he used her and deemed her worthless. She gets her revenge on Kaede by staking everything on Yumeko's victory but Itsuki is later shown with him in the hospital, indicating she still does care about him despite his poor treatment.<!-- also drama -->
;|桃喰 綺羅莉|Momobami Kirari}}

:Played by: Elaiza Ikeda
:Kirari is the Student Council President. She had defeated the former president in a high-stakes game two years prior to the story. ;|桃喰 リリカ|Momobami Ririka}}
:
:Ririka is the quiet and stoic Student Council Vice-President who is frequently seen wearing a white, theatrical comedy mask that provides vocal distortion and is always with Kirari. :</ref>}}
:Played by: Natsume Mito
:Runa is a student council member who likes video games. She is always seen wearing a hoodie with rabbit ears and sucking on a lollipop. She spends her time taunting various students. Her skills and preferences as a gambler have yet to be revealed. She showed herself to be an impartial mediator during the manga's 'Re-Election' arc.
;|生志摩 妄|Ikishima Midari}}
:</ref> | Sarah Anne Williams}}
:Played by: Miki Yanagi
:Midari is a third-year student and head of the Beautification Committee. Midari wears an eyepatch after stabbing her own eye out to pay her gambling debt to Kirari, but remains loyal to the Student Council when Kirari promised to kill her in the future. She is aroused by violence, and often challenges opponents to increasingly violent gambles where the participants can either be maimed or killed, favoring modified versions of Russian roulette. After Yumeko forces their seemingly deadly game into a bloodless draw, she becomes infatuated with her. In the drama, she is typically chained up in a jail cell.

She secretly hopes to be an Academy Award-winning actress in Hollywood in the future and hates having to deal with her Japanese fans, whom she views as disgusting and perverted. She challenges Yumeko to a game of tic-tac-toe with a variety show challenge. After losing to Yumeko and having her secrets revealed to her fans, she finds out that her fans are fine with the way she is and she decides to continue her career as an idol.
;|豆生田 楓|Manyūda Kaede}}

He has short hair and wears glasses that he is always pushing up with his middle finger when speaking to someone. He is not above using others to achieve his goals or putting others down because of recent failures. He is also quick to question Kirari's methods when certain members fail or her sudden disappearance when she was called away. After losing a game to Yumeko, he is hospitalized and his hair turns white due to his great shock of destitution from underestimating his opponent. He makes a come back in 'Re-Election Arc' of the manga and becomes Yumeko's ally.
Johannes Tropfke (14 Oktober 1866 – 10 November 1939) was a German mathematician and teacher, who is best remembered for his influential work on the history of elementary mathematics Geschichte der Elementarmathematik, which consists of seven volumes.

Life
Tropfke was born in Berlin at Marienstraße 14 as the older of two sons of the cabinet maker Franz Tropfke. The house in which Tropfke was born was built by his grandfather Franz Joseph Tropfke around 1830 and is one of the few houses in the area, that didn't get destroyed during World War II. Tropfke grew up in Berlin and after his graduation from the Friedrichs-Gymnasium (high school) in 1884 he attended the university in Berlin to study sciences and mathematics. In 1889 he was awarded a degree to teach math and sciences at gymnasiums (high schools). Later he earned a PhD in matematics from the University of Halle for a thesis on elliptic integrals (Zur Darstellung des elliptischen Integrales erster Gattung), his advisor was Lazarus Fuchs.

Tropfke first worked as teacher at the Friedrichs-Realgymnasium and at the Realgymnasium of Dorotheenstadt and in 1913 he became the principal of the newly founded Kirschner-Oberrealschule in Moabit. Tropfke stayed on in this position until his retirement in 1932. In 1907 he was awarded the title of a professor. He was one of the first members of the International Academy of the History of Science and in 1939 he was awarded the Leibniz medal by the Prussian Academy of Sciences.

Aside from his work in education and mathematics Tropfke also had a career in local politics. He was a member of the German People's Party and served as council member for the city of Berlin from 1907 to 1920.

Tropfke married Frida Thyssen. The couple had a son Erich, who perished in World War I, and a daughter Elisabeth. Tropfke passed away on 10 November 1939 in the very same house in which he was born.

Work
Tropfke's most important contributions were in the history of mathematics. His seminal work Geschichte der Elementarmathematik originally consisted of two volumes, when it was first published in 1903 and got expanded into to seven volumes for its third edition in 1939. The structure and focus of Tropfke's work differed somewhat from most work in the history of mathematics at the time. Instead of structuring the material chronologically with a focus on the biography of mathematicians, Tropfke selected to organize it by mathematical fields and then focussed on the development of concepts and terminology in those fields rather than on biographical aspects. In particular with its third edition Tropfke's Geschichte der Elementarmathematik was also one of the most extensive compilations on the history of mathematics, which led to it becoming a well known and influential reference work. was a 1962 bribery scandal in the Philippines which implicated high level government officials, including President Diosdado Macapagal, future President Ferdinand Marcos, former President Carlos P. Garcia and numerous other top Philippine officials, who were accused of accepting bribes to protect Stonehill's $50-million business empire. The scandal erupted when Jose W. Diokno, who was serving as Justice Secretary under the Macapagal administration at the time, raided the offices of 42 of Stonehill's business establishments on March 2, 1962 and arrested Stonehill allong with a number of his associates. The raid resulted in the confiscation of phone-tapping instruments, jamming devices, and other espionage equipment as well as six army trucks worth of documents.
Stonehill was accused of tax evasion, economic sabotage, and various other charges, but among the documents were a letter from Stonehill addressed to Macapagal and a "blue book" which listed money given to various government officials, including Macapagal, Garcia, and Marcos.

Macapagal ordered Stonehill to be deported in August 1962, which sparked outrage and accusations of a coverup, notably from Diokno, whom Macapagal had prevented from pursuing the prosecution and then sacked from the cabinet. Diokno, in lamenting Macapagal's order to deport Stonehill, said, "How can the government now prosecute the corrupted when it has allowed the corrupter to go?"

Andrew V. Porter (March 7 1910 – July 1, 2010) was an American Negro League Baseball and Minor League Baseball pitcher. Listed at 6' 4" (1.95 m), 190 lbs (86 kg), Porter batted and threw right handed. He was born in Little Rock, Arkansas.

Colloquially known as 'Andy Pullman', because he worked as hard as a Pullman porter, he was noted for his overpowering fastball and a hard-to-hit slider. Porter joined the Negro Baseball leagues in 1932 and retired in 1954 after a 22 year career, playing for several teams all over the country and even outside its borders, in Cuba, Mexico and Venezuela.

Career
Porter started his career with the Cleveland Cubs in 1932, pitching for them briefly before joining the Louisville Black Caps and then moving across the league to finish the season with the Nashville Elite Giants, the franchise for which Porter would play the majority of his Negro League career. Porter, along with Bill Byrd and Jonas Gaines, formed part of the Big Three on the Elite Giants' pitching staff.

For the next six seasons Porter was a mainstay pitcher for the Elite Giants, which became rather nomadic, moving from Nashville, Tennesee to Columbus, Ohio in 1935 and to Washington D.C. in 1936, before landing finally in Baltimore, Maryland in 1938.

As a 22-year-rookie, Porter had a 1-3 record in four games in 1933, improving to a 8-6 mark and a 3.53 ERA in a 18-game campaign in 1934, when he was selected for the East–West All-Star Game after collecting the second-highest vote total of any Elite Giants player, although he did not appear in the game. During the off-season, he pitched particularly well in the California Winter League, going 12-3 for the Giants, including 66 strikeouts while allowing only 21 walks in 122.0 innings of work.

In 1935, Porter lost a significant part of the season due to an illness. Nevertheless, he was impressive enough during the remainder of the year, going 3-1 with a 2.73 ERA in six appearances and earning a repeat selection to the East–West All-Star Game, but he was not used in the game.

Afterwards, Porter had two subpar seasons, going 3-3 with a 5.75 ERA in 1936 and 1-6, 4.66 in 1937, being selected for the East–West All-Star Game in this last season. Once more, Porter did not appear in the game, but he was persistent and would show his skills in other significant showcases games.

It came in October 1936 during an exhibition series, when Porter faced an all-white, All-Star team that included future Hall of Famers Rogers Hornsby and Johnny Mize, as he was 1-1 with a 3.00 ERA in two appearances. In Game 2, Porter hurled four innings on one earned-run while striking out eight, including Hornsby twice. Unfortunately, Porter charged with the loss after an unearned run was scored on two errors in the ninth inning. In Game 5, he was credited with the win in six innings of relief for Satchel Paige, allowing just two runs and retiring Hornsby and Mize with the bases loaded in the fifth inning. Porter stayed with the Elite Giants in 1938, posting a 4-1 record and 2.57 ERA in six before jumping to the Mexican League the following spring.

Porter joined the Alijadores de Tampico Mexican club in 1939. Overall, he posted a 10-7 record and a 2.28 ERA for Tampico, leading the League with 111 strikeouts while pitching in the inaugural Mexican League All-Star Game played on August 29th in Mexico City. During the winter, he traveled to Cuba and went 3-4 for the Leopardos de Santa Clara club.

Meanwhile, a Negro League Baseball ban on players who jumped to Mexico had been clarified before the 1940 season as a three-year suspension. As a result, Porter returned for a second season in the Mexican League in 1940. He then shifted to the Tecolotes de Nuevo Laredo, where he became a real workhorse, appearing in nearly half of his team's games and winning 21 of their 39 victories while ending with a 3.34 ERA. Furthermore, he led the league with 27 complete games, 296 innings pitched, 232 strikeouts and 125 walks, each of which were at the time league records. The strikeout record would last 12 years before Cuban pitcher Lino Donoso broke it in 1954. After that, Porter pitched in the 1940-1941 Cuban Winter League season. He went 6-5 for the Alacranes de Almendares, a team that otherwise finished last with a disappointing record of 20-26 in the four-team league.

But Porter slowed his performance in 1941 with the Diablos Rojos del México, posting a 11-16 record and a 4.47 ERA. Although he led the league with 133 strikeouts, Porter had problems with his control and gave up 116 walks in 235⅓ innings.

In 1942, Negro League Baseball rescinded their ban on players in Mexico and Porter returned to the Elite Giants in the spring. He had a 7-1 record with the Elites, but after joining the Azules de Veracruz in the Mexican League, he continued struggling with his control and dropped to a 5-8 record with a 5.66 ERA and only 47 strikeouts to 81 walks.

The following season Porter appeared in only three games without a decision for Veracruz, before rejoining the Elite Giants through the remainder of 1943. He went 2-3 with a 6.17 ERA in nine games.

Upon his return to the Elites, Porter recovered his form and won 3 of his 4 decisions in 1944, and followed in 1945 with a perfect 7-0 record and a 3.38 ERA in 11 games, including two shutouts, leading the league in winning percentage and showing good control while striking out 30 batters and walking 18 in 81⅔ innings.

In 1946, his last year with the Elite Giants, Porter was 5-5 with a 4.30 ERA in 13 games, including 47 strikeouts to 23 walks in 90.0 innings. This renewed success drew the attention of Nuevo Laredo and Porter returned briefly to Mexico, going 2-2 with a 5.12 ERA for the Tecolotes in 1947.

Thereafter, Porter returned to the Negro Leagues and played briefly with the Newark Eagles in 1947 and for the Indianapolis Clowns over the course of three seasons from 1948–1950. He posted a 4-5 mark with a 4.68 ERA in 1948, improved to a 10-6 record with a 3.64 ERA in 1949, and appeared in only three games in 1950, winning his only two decisions.

At this time, he finally made an All-Star appearance at age 38, pitching three hitless innings for the East team and combining with two other pitchers to hold the West squad on two hits in a 4–0 shutout in the 1949 East–West All-Star Game. Porter was preceded by Bob Griffith and followed by Pat Scantlebury, who allowed two singles in the final three innings.

In between, Porter played winter ball with the Sabios de Vargas club of the Venezuelan League in its 1949–1950 season. He posted a 5-6 record and a 5.26 ERA in 18 appearances, including 12 starts and five complete games, but struggled with his control throughout the season while allowing 60 walks and striking out 37 in 101.0 innings.

Following a year off, Porter pitched for the Porterville Comets of the Southwest International League in 1952, being part of the first all-black team to play in Minor League Baseball as well as one of the first clubs with an African American manager. Porter was slated to hold the second slot on the pitching staff behind player-manager Chet Brewer and, despite his age of 41, enthusiastically was well above average in the six-team league, posting a 3-5 mark and a 4.27 ERA in 78.0 innings of work.

Prior to the start of the 2008 MLB Draft, Major League Baseball held a Special Draft of the surviving Negro League players to acknowledge and rectify their exclusion from the major leagues on the basis of race. The idea of the special draft was conceived by Hall of Famer Dave Winfield. Every MLB team participated in the selection process, as 'Andy Pullman' was drafted by the Los Angeles Dodgers. At first, he had no idea about it, but then he saw recognition in his eyes.

Porter died in 2010 in Los, Angeles, Califonia at the age of 100. At the time of his death, he was the second oldest living Negro League ballplayer after Emilio 'Millito' Navarro.

Notes
Social Security Death Index and Porter's grave marker both give Porter's birth year as 1910. Porter's birth year is elsewhere listed as 1911. In the 1920 U.S. Census, Porter is listed as age 10 when enumerated on January 12th, 1920. This more closely aligns with the 1910 birth year.
