'''Peter van Bueren''' (19 March 1942 - 26 March 2020) was a Dutch film critic.
Van Bueren studied political and social sciences and started working for the newspaper ''[[De Tijd]]'' in 1963. In 1968 it was for him the first time he visited [[Cannes Film Festival]]. He switched in 1976 to the newspaper ''[[de Volkskrant]]'' where he succeeded Bob Bertina after three years. For decades he was one of the leading film critics in the Netherlands.
At the end of the nineties he got into a conflict with the editorial staff of ''de Volkskrant''. An attempt to transfer Van Bueren to another editorial in the newspaper failed, but he got TV critic Ronald Ockhuysen as Chief Film Editor. In 2002 he retired, aged 60. Van Bueren had a section in the radio programm [[Radio Bergeijk]]. He can be seen in the documentary ''Parradox'' (2010) of [[In-soo Radstake]] about [[Pim de la Parra]], and also in ''Ongoing Smile'' (2013) of [[Mohsen Makhmalbaf]]. In 2014 the first '''' was awarded to him.
