Apart from the EIC vessels, the expedition employed a large number of transports specifically for the expedition. These vessels carried the [[93rd (Sutherland Highlanders) Regiment of Foot|93rd]], [[38th (1st Staffordshire) Regiment of Foot|38th]], and [[South Wales Borderers|24th Regiments of Foot]], the Royal Artillery, and dismounted dragoons.<ref name=Theal/> Vessels whose name is followed by the symbol "†" represent tentative identifications. These are vessels for which Wikipedia articles exist and where the article indicates that the vessel could plausibly participated in the expedition. Some of these vessels suggest that they too may have been sailing on EIC-sponsored voyages.
