'''Genevieve Estelle Jones''' (1847 &ndash; August 17, 1879) was an American amateur naturalist and artist, known as "the other [[John James Audubon|Audubon]]".<ref></ref>

The daughter of Nelson E. Jones, a doctor, and [[Virginia Smith Jones]], she was born in [[Circleville, Ohio]] and attended [[high school]] there. From her father, she learned about [[natural history]] and acquired an interest in birds. She was impressed by the paintings by Audubon from ''[[The Birds of America]]'' on display at the [[Centennial Exposition]] in [[Philadelphia]] in 1876 and was inspired to initiate an illustrated study of the birds and bird nests of [[Ohio]].<ref name=weidman></ref><ref name=wisc/>

Jones died of [[typhoid fever]] in 1879<ref name=weidman/> with the work still incomplete. Her mother and brother Dr. Howard Jones worked to complete the project.<ref></ref> ''[[Illustrations of the Nests and Eggs of Birds of Ohio]]'' was published in 1886.<ref></ref>
