The club was a venue for [[Bebop|bebop]] musicians,<ref></ref> and artists [[Barry Harris]] and [[Kenny Barron]] played there.<ref></ref> [[Cedar Walton]] recorded the albums, ''[[A Night at Boomers, Vol. 1]]'' and ''[[A Night at Boomers, Vol. 2]]'', at the club. ''A Night at Boomers, Vol. 1'' also was released as ''Naima - Recorded Live at Boomer's''.<ref></ref>

In the 1980s the restaurant, Manatus, opened at the location formerly occupied by Boomer's. The restaurant closed in 2014.<ref></ref>
