The 202nd Field Hospital is an [[Army Reserve (United Kingdom)|Army Reserve]] field hospital regiment of the [[Royal Army Medical Corps]] within the [[British Army]].
== History ==
The 202nd Field Hospital can trace their history back to '''202nd (Midland) General Hospital''' formed in 1967 part of [[TAVR II]] assigned to Commander Medical, [[1st British Corps]] under war, during peacetime the regiment was under command of [[143rd Infantry Brigade (United Kingdom)|143rd (West Midlands) Infantry Brigade]] under [[Western District (British Army)|Western District]] at [[Birmingham]]. The regiment was originally formed from the amalgamtion of 147th (South Midland) Field Ambulance and 22 (Birmingham) Field Dressing Station. After the 1983 reorganizations the the regiment was re-titled as '''202nd (Midland) Field Hospital'''. During the cold war the regiment had an interesting job, in wartime, to take control of the [[Warwickshire Volunteer Band]] part of the 5th Battalion, [[The Royal Regiment of Fusiliers]].<ref></ref> In 1999 the regiment was re-organized into four surgical squadrons with HQ at [[Birmingham]]. In 2003 the regiment was re-organized again into 3 detachments. Under [[Army 2020]] the regiment is part of [[2nd Medical Brigade (United Kingdom)|2nd Medical Brigade]].
