Casavo was founded in 2017 by Giorgio Tinacci and initially operated in Milan.<ref name="eu-startups" /><ref name="finsmes" /> In September 2017 the company collected a pre-seed round of €500,000 from Picus Capital. A [[Seed money|seed]] round of €1.4m followed in March 2018, led by 360 Capital Partners and supported by Picus Capital and Rancilio Cube. The financing round allowed the expansion of the services in Rome, beginning from October 2018.<ref></ref>

In February 2019, the company raised €9m in its Series A funding round led by Berlin-based Project A Ventures, with participation from existing investors Picus Capital, 360 Capital Partners, Kervis Asset Management, and Boost Heroes, along with Marco Pescarmona and Rancilio Cube. By this point, the company was working with over 700 real estate agencies in both Milan and Rome, having raised a total of €21m in equity and debt funding.<ref></ref><ref name="finsmes" /><ref></ref>
