Adimora-Ezeigbo was born in Eastern Nigeria, gaining a BA and MA in English from the [[University of Lagos]] and a PhD from the [[University of Ibadan]]. She started teaching at the University of Lagos in in 1981 and became professor of English in 1999. She has taught in this university, in the Department of English, since 1981. She is married to Professor [[Chris Ezeigbo]] and they have three children.
